Steady progress of hospital and elderly services supports company’s strong business results.

Tokai Corp. has the head office in Gifu City, Gifu prefecture and its main businesses include hospital support work, nursing care equipment rental and dispensing pharmacy.
In the hospital support work the company provides services to supports hospital managements such as linen supply, hospital facility management, cleaning and meal provision.
Its business also includes renting products for nursing care and bedding rental to hotels.
Those health and life related services account for almost half of the company's sales. In addition, sales from the business of operating dispensing pharmacies, which provide medicines to patients at home in each region account for nearly 40% of its sales.
The company's sales in 2019 increased steadily for the second consecutive year achieving a record high.
Although dispensing services have been affected by the recent revision of medical service fees by the government, the steady progress of hospital-related businesses and services for the elderly supports the company's strong business results.
In regard to recent movement, it has developed a watch-type wearable terminal for hospital patients in cooperation with an electronic components manufacturer which enable families and care providers to monitor the patient's pulse for 24 hours and help them if there are any problems.
In addition, it obtained the welfare equipment lending and sales business from a company based in Gifu Prefecture in March 2019.
By those efforts it aims to develop new business and expand customer base.

COVID-19 cases rise in Japan amid state of emergency, Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics to be downsized The Japanese government has decided to add three prefectures to its state of emergency as coronavirus cases continue to rise.   Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said on May 14 that he decided to expand a COVID-19 state of emergency covering Tokyo and other areas to three more prefectures as infections continue to surge ahead of the Summer Olympics.  Starting on May 15, it will cover Hokkaido, Okayama and Hiroshima in an effort to curb infections and ease the strain on medical systems. Conveyor belt sushi , also known as Kaiten-sushi is a semi-self-service type, inexpensive sushi restaurant where small plates bringing various types of sushi on them are continuously circulated on chain conveyors installed along the seats.  Fresh and well-made sushi can be enjoyed for relatively cheap prices there.
