Denso Corporation is one of the world's leading car parts manufacturers based in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture.
The company used be a Toyota's electrical division. It separated from Toyota and started in 1949 as Nippon Denso.
For this reason, Toyota is still the largest shareholder of Denso with a 23.7% stake and has a close relationship.

As for business results in fiscal 2019, its revenue increased by ¥ 254.5 billion to ¥ 5,362.8 billion due to an increase in global vehicle production and sales expansion.
Despite sales growth, the company is facing sluggish profits because of recent stagnation in the global economy.
Under these circumstances, it developed and began selling bi-directional power feeders for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles in May 2019.
This product is not only for charging EV and PHV electricity, but also enable car owners to utilize the electricity stored in the vehicle at home.
The product can be used for the Toyota new Prius PHV released in the same month.
By using this product, the electricity charged in the vehicle can be used during the daytime when the electricity bill is low and in the event of a power failure the electricity stored in the vehicle can be used at home.
Electricity generated by solar power can also be stored in the vehicle.
Through these business developments, the company aims to contribute realizing a sustainable society and develop products and services that enrich our life.
