Chubu region, the home of Japanese manufacturing industry

Chubu region is located at the center of Japan, consisting of Aichi Prefecture, Gifu Prefecture, Mie Prefecture and several other prefectures.
It has been regarded for long as a source of Japanese industry’s competitiveness because of a high concentration of the world's leading manufacturing industries, such as aerospace industries, automobile industries and highly advanced material industries.
The value of manufactured goods shipment from the region exceeds 20% of Japan although it has only about 10% of population and land area of the country.
Nagoya Port, the region’s shipment hub has the largest trade volume in the nation thanks to the activities by many cars and auto parts manufactures in the region.

In addition, Chubu region has become a stage of many turning points in Japanese history such as the battle of Sekigahara, and many Japanese leaders including Nobunaga Oda, one of the most famous warlords were born.
This photo shows a panoramic view of the Nobi plain where Chubu region is located.
It was taken from Gifu Castle, where Nobunaga Oda once lived.
You can see Sekigahara in the distance.

For this reason, this blog focuses on business and economic activities in the Chubu region.
