Havix aims to develop new businesses in medical and nursing area in addition to expansion in emerging countries.
Havix CO. provides intermediate materials
for paper diapers, sanitary products, pet sheets, towels, tray mats, paper
napkins, cooking paper and other paper products.
The company aims to bring the society hygienic
cleanliness and comfort environment with its products.
The current business
results were sluggish because sales of baby diapers related products were weak
due to decrease in exports.
Price increase of imported pulp which is a main raw
material and high fuel price also gave negative impacts.
As for its fiscal year
ended March in 2019, the sales are down 0.3% from last year to 12,823 million
yen, operating income is down 40.1% to 684 million yen and ordinary income is
down 39.7% to 694 million yen.
Under these circumstances, the company is
expanding its plant in Kaizu city, Gifu Prefecture enlarging its production
system expected to start in December this year.
The sanitary materials market
such as disposable diapers is expected to continue growing in the future because
of the aging population in Japan and the economic growth and increasing hygiene
awareness in emerging countries.
The company aims to develop new businesses
while expanding existing business in those areas as a medium to long-term
growth strategy.
With regard to new business areas, in addition to sanitary
materials and food service business, the company aims to develop a new business
in medical and nursing area where demand for disposable products is expected to
increase with the background of the graying society.
The company plans to
conduct a market research to establish production bases and expand business in
emerging countries such as the ASEAN region where the sanitary materials market
and food service industry market are expected to grow further.
